What languages does it answer in?

All 66, with a native voice for each

In short. Enquiry 360 answers your phone in 66 languages, each with a native Azure Neural Voice rather than an English voice reading foreign words. You can set a line to answer in one language, or a caller can ask to switch part-way through and the rest of the conversation follows. Whichever language the call happens in, the enquiry is written into your own Microsoft Dataverse in English, so your team reads every record the same way. Every language is included on every plan. Ring 01924 926000 and ask it to switch.

Most phone systems handle other languages by putting the caller in a queue for someone who speaks it, or by asking them to try again in English. This one answers them in their own language, on the spot, in any of 66.

Voice availability is set by Microsoft per Azure region, so the exact voice for a given language depends on the region you deploy into. We check the voice exists before a line goes live.

How a caller gets their language

Two ways, and you choose which.

  • Set the line. A phone number can be configured to answer in a particular language from the first word. Useful where you know the community you serve.
  • Let the caller ask. On a line that answers in English, a caller can simply say they would rather continue in another language, and it switches mid-conversation. The questions, the confirmations and the read-backs all follow.

Why the record still comes back in English

This is the part that makes it usable rather than a novelty. A caller who speaks Polish is answered in Polish, but the enquiry that lands in your own Microsoft system is in English. Your team does not need to speak the language to act on the enquiry, and your reporting stays in one language across every call.

What this replaces

The usual options are a translation line, a queue for a bilingual member of staff, or asking the caller to find someone who speaks English for them. All three add delay, and the last one is the reason a lot of enquiries are never made at all. For a service where a proportion of callers are more comfortable in another language, this is less a feature than a wider front door.

Frequently asked

Which languages can an AI receptionist answer in?

Enquiry 360 answers in 66 languages, including English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese and Polish, Arabic, Mandarin, Cantonese. The full list is on this page. Each one uses a native Azure Neural Voice rather than a robotic text-to-speech engine.

Can a caller switch language in the middle of a call?

Yes. You can set a phone line to answer in a particular language, or the caller can simply ask to switch and the rest of the conversation continues in that language. The questions, the answers and the confirmations all follow.

If a caller speaks another language, what language do I get the enquiry in?

In English. The caller is answered in their language, and the enquiry is written into your own Microsoft Dataverse in English, so your team reads every record the same way regardless of which language the call happened in.

Does it sound like a real voice or a robot?

It uses Azure Neural Voices, which are the same voices Microsoft supplies to its own products. Each language has a native voice rather than an English voice reading foreign words, which is what usually makes multilingual phone systems sound wrong.

Is multilingual answering an extra cost?

No. Every language is included on every plan. There is no per-language charge and no separate multilingual tier.

Can I hear it before I believe any of this?

Yes. Ring 01924 926000 and ask it to switch language. There is no form and no demo to book.

Can a voicebot answer in a language my staff do not speak?

Yes, and it is one of the better reasons to have one. It answers in the language the caller is speaking, and the enquiry still reaches you in yours.

Hear it switch. Ring 01924 926000, ask it to continue in another language, and listen to what happens.
